The Emergence of Spring
We are one week away from the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, a welcomed inhale after the long, exhale of Winter. We are beginning to taste the beginnings of Springtime with the melting of the snow, muddy trails, first blooms peeking out of the garden, days where we can shed the layers and begin to show our winterized skin.
And, in the last couple of days, with daylight savings time, we are experiencing longer days with more sunlight! All are good for the heart and soul.
The emergence of Spring is always a dance in the Rocky Mountains. The flowers begin to show themselves on those warm, sunny days only to be blanketed with snow on the following one. In and out, in and out….the energy of pacing and non-attachment at the forefront of this evolution and we, as humans along for the ride, must yield to the pacing of human nature.
Whether or not you are a “Winter person” or can’t wait for Winter to end, it always feels to me like there is a collective in breath during this time of year.
To me, it is an opportunity to recalibrate my system from within. To cultivate an even deeper relationship with my body and the whole of myself in attuning to my center in midst of the fluctuations in this transition. Making sure that I am doing my practices every day and also the opportunity to dig in a little deeper in community as often as I am moved to.
Spring is all about balance, rebirthing, resetting, new beginnings, growth, and renewal.
In the spirit of creating balance, it’s important even though we feel this flutter of energy, or as one of my beloved clients said a spring in our step, we need to take this process slowly and mindfully… Slow and steady, bringing our breath and bodies into the mix, dropping this spark of energy down and getting rooted through our bodies into this dance that the earth is taking us on.
To use this time of building energy to drop deeper into ourselves so that when the full expansion arrives at the Summer Solstice in June, we are upright and intact. This is a time to dream and vision and learn and reset and recalibrate.
Each season alters us in some way. Wintertime pulls us deeply inward – into our homes and layers of clothes….into the darkness. When we begin to really surrender and attune to these seasons and bring mindfulness into the transitions, we can learn so much about ourselves, our bodies, our needs, and what is most aligned and true for us as individuals.
Wherever this time may find you personally, it feels as though many are beginning to emerge from their Winter cocoons and are seeking connection of one degree or another.
Evolving with consciousness and in connected community can propel us to new levels of living, being, and relating.
We can remember who we are and that we are not alone on our journey.
We can experience what it feels like to connect authentically and to share pieces of our story and the crevices of our hearts in safety.
I have just a few spots left for this weekend’s upcoming Spring Equinox Women’s Event here in Boulder. This one will be the last one that I will offer at a sliding scale, as I have realized it’s not sustainable for me and my business. I will always strive to keep my work affordable and accessible to anyone who is moved to participate and always have payment options and plans, if needed. If you are feeling pulled to celebrate and honor this powerful passage of the year in a safe and supportive community, consider joining us! Please do reach out if you have any questions.
Wherever you are on your journey physically, emotionally, spiritually…carve out some time and space to ritualize and honor the turn of the season. Create something that connects you to your body, to your heart, and to your community (even if it is just one fellow human on the path).
Usher in this change of season with consciousness, presence, mindfulness, and connection.
I am reminded repeatedly that this collective journey and churning that we have been on together, for the past many years, has magnified the need for each of us to really dig in to our personal work and commit to showing up in each moment to the best of our ability. That does not mean it’s always pretty, but what it does mean is that us being human with each other and learning how to ride the waves of our emotional states, while simultaneously tapping into the collective energy and impetus towards healing, is so important right now.
May this new season bring each of you a deepening of awareness of yourself, beauty, love, ease, inspiration, and a rebirthing abundant with truth.
As always, I love hearing from you and am here for connection and support.
Please reach out anytime either by hitting reply to this email or setting up a 20-minute Zoom/phone connect time.
