Keep It Moving

"The only thing I knew how
to do was to keep on
keeping on".

~Bob Dylan

Whew!  What a time to be alive.  Things certainly feel as though they are amping up with the U.S. election on the very near horizon and approaching the final few months of this wild year.

It is so easy to feel like collapsing in midst of the relentlessness of these days.  I get it completely.  Emerging from bed on many occasions feels momentous.

To meet these times with continued presence, it feels as though we are collectively needing to dig deep to show up and rise up every single day.

May this blog be a gentle reminder that you are not alone.   Everyone is impacted by these times on multiple levels AND that it is more important than ever to keep moving forward.

We must keep our energy moving forward in any way that we possibly can.  Working with our bodies, our minds, our hearts….feeling our feelings and keeping it moving.

Triggers of all sorts are emerging sending many into spirals of confusion and despair.  These are the moments that strengthen us, these are the moments that truly show us that we can and will survive and offer the glimpses of possibility into becoming even more evolved in our humanity.

Not easy, yet so essential.

Over the past few weeks I have had several clients say to me, in reflection of some old patterns re-emerging, that they thought they were “done with that”.  This is the nature of the sustainable healing path.  It is not straight and narrow but rather winding and curvy offering ample opportunity to re-evaluate and re-assess along the way.

We are done when we are done and the layers that emerge provide the platform for even deeper healing and expansion of the truth of who we are.

We cannot bypass our healing.

No matter what is surfacing for you….an old addictive behavior, an outdated relationship, some debilitating belief systems, emotional states that are inhibiting your ability to show up for your life….trust the process.

Trust that it is coming up now to be worked with and released.

We cannot just pour love and light on our wounds and hope that they heal and disappear (although, of course, giving ourselves  a ton of love, light, and compassion is essential!!).

We can do our work every day, our practices to become more present and awake to our lives and our habitual ways of relating to ourselves and others, yet triggers inevitably surface.  Those that emerge need some love and attention and space to breathe and express.

We need to feel it to heal it.

We need to do our work to get to the other side.  No one can do this for us.  Creating solid support systems and surrounding us with those who get it, who speak the same language, and who are not trying to change us but rather understand the process of personal evolution.

Cultivating that capacity to be with ourselves in midst of the ups and downs of this human life is such an empowering way of living.  Making it our practice to find that acceptance in every moment no matter what is surfacing for us.

Ready to do the healing work essential for navigating these times?  I can help you.  Body-Centered Coaching is life coaching that focuses on healing the whole person from the inside out.  In meeting these times, I have moved my practice home and am offering all sessions via Zoom.

Wherever you are and whatever you have surfacing during these times, please be gentle, kind, and compassionate with yourselves.

Take things moment-by-moment, day-by-day. Give yourself a lot of space to breathe, to feel, and to BE.

Rest, hydrate, nourish, and keep your energy moving.

We are all in this together.

**I post (almost!) daily inspiration and motivation on Instagram if you are looking for more support throughout your weeks.  I would love to connect with you there!
