Reflection
It is hard to believe that we have landed in this final month of another wild year of life on the planet.
2021 has certainly taken us through many valleys and peaks….in and out of the darkness of humanity and has shed light on the gaps from deep within each and every one of us.
This newsletter, being my final one of the year, feels important to name and acknowledge this rugged journey and the incredible resilience, strength, and growth that is alive and well.
It is indeed a time for reflection and an opportunity to turn within and feel ourselves at this juncture of life.
I, first and foremost, want to take a moment and express the purest gratitude and appreciation to each of you for hanging in with me over the course of this wild year. Some of you for many years, others of you brand new to the community.
Please know that I pour myself into these writings as an act of service and an authentic offering of support for the collective. I always say, if I touch one life in reading my words, then it was well worth the output.
Writing to you for all of these years, and especially since the onset of this pandemic has been medicine on the deepest level for me as well.
I truly hope that at least one of my writings that landed in your inbox stirred something in your soul to take action on your own behalf….and on behalf of the healing that we are experiencing in the collective.
If you are just joining the community, welcome! HERE is a direct link to read all of the past blogs/newsletters if you are moved to peruse.
There is so much circulating through me at this juncture that it felt impossible to hone in on just one subject for this final offering of the year.
Rather, I want to offer the space for those of you who are reading to take a moment and really drop into yourselves.
To feel the magnitude of this trek….all that you have navigated in your personal world, all that has transpired on a global level, all of the unknowns and uncertainties that remain.
To reflect on your own unique path….where you have been, what you have come through, and where you are landing now.
So, grab your journals and notebooks and consider free writing to the below questions:
-
What have you danced with in this past year?
-
What has shifted in your life? In your relationships? In your homes and jobs?
-
What medicine have you received in the crevices of so much gunk? Where have the blessings been?
-
What have been the most potent lessons of this year for you?
-
Where have your growing edges been?
-
What have been the nuggets of inspiration and transformation?
-
What have you let go of?
-
How have you evolved in yourself?
-
Where do you stand now? In yourself? In your body? In your heart and your soul?
We are certainly at yet another crossroads on this bumpy road heading into a new calendar year brimming with new possibilities. We have the choice in every moment as to what we want to focus our energy on.
We can absolutely pour ourselves over the media images, pandemic upheaval, and the unknown of our collective future.
Or, we can use our time and energy for the positive….focusing on love, on connection, on our transformational process, on creating a life that we appreciate with the whole of our beings, and dream and vision our futures.
We can do the deep work on ourselves to heal and grow in unimaginable ways. We can choose to turn towards the light so as to be that for those who need it. And, there are so many who do.
If you are someone who is struggling, please know that there are resources of support out here for you. You are not alone.
If you know of someone who is in the dark, please do not ignore that. Be proactive in your support if you have the means to do so.
Be kind to others, find compassion from deep within your own hearts, and acknowledge those who may be less fortunate than you at this juncture. Let us honor this upheaval that we have been steering over the past nearly 2 years with reverence, with care, and with our eyes wide open.
If you made it all the way down to the bottom of this message (which I hope you did!), consider reaching out to someone you haven’t talked to in awhile. Check in on your people.
When you are buying your groceries or other needed items or dining at restaurants, ask how those whom are serving you are doing. Make eye contact. Be sincere and present. There are too many suffering silently.
What the world needs now, more than ever, are those whom are awake…and those whom genuinely care enough to connect.
Sending each of you my unwavering love and compassionate support.
Enjoy the holiday time wherever you are.
Honor your needs and treat yourselves with loving care.
I always love hearing from you and would genuinely love to know how you are faring out there in this crazy world we are living in.
Reach out anytime.
I am here.
