While I absolutely do not believe in dwelling on the past, I do believe that it is important to acknowledge our journeys…both individually and collectively since this pandemic began.

It is important to take a moment and recognize and honor this journey you have been on these past 2 years.

As we approach the kids Spring Break, I am flooded with memories of this time 2 years ago….of the decision that the schools made to close through Spring Break and then to re-open.

Little did we know then that the kids would not return to in person school until many, many months later…in an entirely new school year….masked.

I am also memorializing my beautiful mothers bout with COVID right at the onset.  A very heart-wrenching 3 weeks of deep sickness for our family.  Her strength and amazing health (and I will say over 40-year yoga practice!) carried her through, yet altered forever by the experience.

I recall just before lockdown….standing in absurdly long lines in grocery stores…stocking up on food and supplies as if this may be our last opportunity to do so.

I remember that time of lockdown – the eeriness of the empty, quiet streets, the awkwardness of being out in the world in those fleeting moments…picking up food from local restaurants, masked and gloved, as a gesture of community support.

I believe we all inherently knew that it was going to demand a rising level of consciousness, kindness, and generosity to get through this strange and uncomfortable time.

This time has certainly *forced* a level of presence in each moment as we were pivoted over and over and over again.  The unknown unveiling has nudged each of us (to put it mildly!) to cultivate flexibilityresilience, and strength from within….most likely in ways that we did not even know we had in us.

So, I invite you to spend some time reflecting on this wild journey you have been on for these past 2 years….the loss, the pain, the joys and opportunities…..where you were then and where you are now.

Acknowledging that there is a certain level of PTSD in the collective around the wild unfolding of these past 2 years. Please know that this is *normal* as we emerge in our own way from some excruciating days, weeks, and months.

Checking in with yourselves on that level and feel into what you need, personally, to feel more grounded and resourced in yourself as you step out into the world.

**A reminder...I wrote a blog post about navigating trauma that offers some tangible and practical steps in your own awakening.  (A modified version was also published on the Brainz Magazine platform!)

Cultivating the quality of acceptance of the unfolding of our lives is an essential step towards the path of aligned empowerment.

And, wherever you are....is OK.

Acceptance is an action – it is a practice – it is a mission – a moment-by-moment experience.

As you are in reflection of this journey, I offer you some potent journaling questions for you to dive into.  Writing is such an incredible outlet for moving the energy, acknowledging, digesting, processing, and releasing the old stories and imprints.

BONUS:  We have a beautiful Full Moon tomorrow, Friday the 18th….a perfect opportunity to write and create a ceremony of release through burning your pages.  Offer it all up to the Universe and ask for support and guidance for this next chapter.

Here are some suggested journaling questions:

  • Where were you in your life 2 years ago? How did you feel in your life on the whole? In your body? In your relationships?

  • What has changed in your outer world? Your inner world?

  • Where have you grown? What areas of your life have pushed your edge of growth out of your comfort zone?

  • Where are you now? How do you feel in your life? In your body? In your relationships? In your life on the whole?

  • Do you have a sense of what direction you are moving in at this juncture? What are your dreams, goals, and vision for this next leg of this wild journey of life?

Take good care of yourselves and be kind to each other.

Reach out anytime.
