Diving In
We have crossed the threshold into Scorpio Season…the time of year where the outer darkness deepens and the shadows of the underworld are revealed. This is not to be feared, yet is an offering of inquiry into our own shadows and cobwebs that inhabit our bodies, our hearts, and our systems on the whole.
Being born under a Scorpio sun myself, this annual deep dive feels like home to me. I am comfortable in the discomfort of personal churning and have learned in my time of inhabiting myself that there is gold to be uncovered in doing this shadowed, unearthing, deeper layer work.
There is an organic theme that emerges during this time of year of leaning into the darkness. We can cultivate a sense of curiosity, gain awareness of the nuances of our inner world, and course correct from that place of humble alignment.
These darker times tend to magnify what in our world needs to be tended to, where we may need to pivot, and what feels out of integrity with our evolving selves.
There is a natural pull inward as the darkness increases. This can be felt both in the literal sense of being pulled inside into the warm, coziness of our homes, and also in the spiritual sense of feeling that tug to look within and adjust on a soul level.
This may mean that this is a time of gathering information for you, on a conscious and subconscious level. I know, for myself, this time of year notoriously provides tremendous intuitive wisdom into my psyche and a deepening of awareness around the patterns in which need some care to shift and change.
Each year provides an intensifying insight into a layer of myself that needs healing.
No matter what your relationship is with the darkness, the impact that these darker days have on you personally, I encourage you to stay open to new possibilities of navigating the darkness.
Of embracing your shadow and learning how to work with it.
Of beginning a journey with yourself of cultivating a relationship to these deeper layers of healing.
The darkness, our shadow side, and the underworld, all have so much to teach us if we can melt into, open our hearts to, dig into, and embrace the discomfort to the reveal of these, perhaps, more hidden layers of who we are.
By digging into our own darkness, we can tap into that light that can beam from our hearts out into this divided, hate-filled, wounded world.
We can keep doing our personal work to liberate ourselves from our own shackles of dysfunction and step forward in our own way…with awareness, with humbleness, with vulnerability, with authenticity, and with HUMANNESS.
So, pour yourselves a hot cup of tea. Wrap yourselves with cozy blankets. Write. Rest. Sit quietly and breathe deeply.
Tune in. Lean in. Trust yourselves and your unique path.
And, beam that light out brightly…pour the love onto yourselves and each other. Be kind. Be gracious. Be compassionate.
As always, you are not alone. If you are struggling or just need some connection, I am out here!
Sending love and hope near and far!!
