Seeking Balance
"Balance is not something you find, it's something you create".
~Jana Kingsford
Every time I sit down to write a newsletter or blog I strive to tap into the collective energy and what is surfacing. Over the past week I can honestly say that nearly every person that I encountered both personally and professionally spoke about seeking balance in their lives.
Today, right now, in this moment, we are experiencing incredible and unbelievable imbalances that are running their course through the political climate and the humanitarian crisis we are bearing witness to.
It is more important than ever to tend to our own systems so that we may remain balanced in these heightened times.
Finding balance in our lives requires a deep, internal connection and dialogue. It is a constant dance demanding refinement at every turn.
Balance in our output, relationships, food intake, alcohol consumption, exercise, social media engagement, rest vs. sleep, incessant work vs. play, our need for solitude vs. connection with others…the list is endless and all are equally important in attaining a balanced life.
The balm for these times to me involves: meditation, deep breaths and awareness of the present moment, time out in our natural world, taking in the sunshine, moving our bodies in nourishing and nurturing ways, being mindful about our words and actions, eating food that is nourishing and nutritious, heart-full connections with those that feed and inspire us, and finding gratitude in everyday moments…anything that we can do to stay awake.
Looking at self-care as more of “community care” – remembering that our ripple is impactful.
It is a complex and ongoing process of self-inquiry.
We have just crossed the threshold into Daylight Savings Time and are stepping closer towards the Spring Equinox. We are collectively being birthed anew. Everyone’s systems are reorganizing during this time.
As the seasons shift and we move in the direction of expansion and light, it is so crucial to really look at what balance in your life looks and feels like.
Here is a golden window to really take an honest look at your lives.
How can we stay balanced and grounded as we navigate these wild times?
What does balance look like for you and your life? What feels off balance in your life?
What is flowing and feeding you? What is draining or stressful?
Where are you giving too much energy? Where could use more?
What actions can you take right now to support yourself as we begin our emergence?
I highly suggest spending some time writing in these next few weeks leading up to the Equinox. Really taking these questions to heart.
I am by your side as we all are collectively navigating uncharted territory. I am out here for support or connection at any point along your journey.
Feel free to reach out and let me know how you are doing on this wild ride of life!
